Maldives BrainSpine conference app
Development of the mobile companion app for the Maldives BrainSpine conference
Built in 2025, this is the mobile companion app for the Maldives BrainSpine conference — the neurosurgery conference series ADK Hospital hosts, and the same event whose 2022 and 2023 websites I built.
It is a React Native app, which put a single codebase behind both platforms and kept the conference branding consistent with the web presence it sits alongside. The structure is deliberately small: a home screen carrying the conference identity, venue details and announcements, and an about screen with the conference background and the secretariat's contact details. For an event app, the job is to answer a handful of questions quickly on a phone in someone's hand — not to be a platform.
The announcement area is the part that earned its place. When the organising committee postponed the 2025 conference to 2026 on economic grounds, the app was how that reached everyone who had already installed it, alongside the note that registrations would be settled directly. A conference app spends most of its life communicating logistics rather than showcasing features, and this one was built around that.
