iCom Tours website and portal

Working with the team at Web Design Maldives on the website and management portal for iCom Tours, who run ferry services, excursions and private boat hires.

The public site handles booking — ferry tickets, excursions and hires — with BML Payment gateway for card payments. Customers get an account, so a booking can be looked up, paid, rescheduled or cancelled without a phone call.

Behind it is the portal the staff use, and that is where most of the work went. Administrators schedule ferries, excursions and private hires, assign a boat and a captain to each departure, and keep an inventory of rental equipment against it. The dashboard summarises the day's activity so someone can see what is running without opening each schedule.

The accounting side gets its own reports covering payments, invoices and credits. A booking system that can take money but can't tell you what was taken is only half finished, and for a business running multiple boats a day the reconciliation is the part that costs staff time.
